Moderator: Prof. Julene Carvalho, Royal Brompton Hospital, London, UK

Prof. Julene Carvalho is a well respected fetal and pediatric cardiologist with more than 20 years of experience in the field of ultrasound. Speaker: Dr. Monique Haak, LUMC Leiden University Hospital, the Netherlands

Title: The fetal heart : Tips and Traps – Part 1

Abstract: The reasons why cardiac lesions are overlooked during anomaly is discussed with visual examples. Lesions which cause diagnostic difficulty, particularly those of the outflow tracts will be presented with tips on optimal imaging. Recently, attention has focused on integration of the 3 vessel + trachea view into practice. Examples of normal and abnormal appearances will be presented linked to their clinical relevance.

Speaker: Prof. John Simpson, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, United Kingdom

Title: The fetal heart: Tips and Traps – Part 2

Abstract: Examples of abnormal appearances of the 3 vessel and trachea view will be presented along with their clinical relevance. Some lesions such as pulmonary venous abnormalities or subtle abnormalities of the four chamber view may also be challenging to diagnose. Examples of such lesions will be demonstrated with expert guidance to aid their detection.

Speaker: Dr. Jader Cruz, MAC Lisbon, Portugal

Title: First trimester cardiac assessment: How far can we see?

Abstract: First trimester ultrasound plays an important role and Jader Cruz will show what you can already see in the fetal heart, what you should see and what you might have never seen before that early.
